ROBERT E. “RED” JENNINGS Robert Earl (Red) Jennings age 84 of Centralia, MO passed away Thursday December 23, 2021 at his home in Centralia surrounded by his wife and children. Robert was born February 7, 1936 in Sturgeon Missouri the son of Pauline and Valaska Jennings. He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Sears on August 21, 1960 at her parents, Victor and Louise Sears, home in Centralia, MO. Robert grew up in Sturgeon with two brothers, Junior and Don, and he moved to Centralia where he and Mary Jane raised their family. Red, as he was known by most, spent over 45 years working for AB Chance Company in Centralia in various roles. He enjoyed taking his kids camping and boating at the Lake of the Ozarks, teaching them and their friends how to ski. He was a Mr. Fixit and was called on by many for his help. In retirement Red picked up a love for golf which he shared with his wife and children. Red and Mary Jane were involved in the Centralia Country Club and built many friendships through golf. He and Mary Jane were able to take a trip to golf in Ireland for their 50th anniversary. One of his “Bucket” list items was to golf all 50 states with his wife and in 2016 he golfed his 50th state, Alaska, with his wife, children, and their spouses. Red’s greatest love and enjoyment in life were his wife, children, and grandchildren. Spending time with them and seeing them happy and enjoying life is what he valued most. Robert Earl (Red) is survived by his wife, Mary Jane of the home; his children, Mike Jennings (Jane) of Fort Collins, CO, Tim Jennings (Lisa) of Columbia, MO, Susan Aleshire (Patrick) of Centralia, MO; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Marissa, Brandon, Ashley, and Justin; one great grandchild, Charlotte along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Jennings; his parents, Valaska Jennings and Pauline and Roy Finlay; his brothers, Junior and Don and a great grandson, Emerson Aleshire. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Interment will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Sturgeon, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends Of Mt.
