DONALD RAY HARMAN
Donald Ray Harman, 83. Centralia, MO passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. He was born October 31, 1937 in High Hill, MO the son of the late Foster William Harman and Caroline (Engel) Harman. Ray was first united in marriage to Dona Jean Poole and later on August 3, 1986 he was united in marriage to Delores Gately.
In addition to his wife Delores of 35 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three daughters Debbie Ruble and her husband Vernon of Worden, IL, Leah Johnson and her husband Todd of Jefferson City, MO and Jennifer Meeks and her husband Joey of Centralia, MO; one sister Vera Kolling of Montgomery City, MO; seven grandchildren Veronica Tuck and her husband Jeffrey, Chelsea Paul and her husband Dave, Makenna Johnson, Jenna Fuenfhausen and her husband Aurie, Shawna Smith, Mia Spano and Jordan Meeks; five great grandchildren Bubba, Olivia, Gracie, Ellie and Soren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, two sons Tom and Gary Byrd, and eleven brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Ray graduated from Montgomery City High School in 1955. After high school he farmed in High Hill, worked part-time at Silo and worked 2 ½ years at the Jonesburg Elevator. In 1967, he moved to Thompson, MO to farm and had a lime and fertilizer business. In 1984, he bought a truck and drove about 3 million miles. As a truck driver he drove in 42 states and won the Driver of The Year Award for 2 years in a row. Along with his wife Delores, he was active in the Parkview Christian Church, helped support Shiloh and Show-Me Children’s Homes, missionaries in Haiti and the Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly. Ray loved gardening, attending old threshers shows, the Montgomery County Fair, tractor pulls and spending time with all of his family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Parkview Christian Church in Centralia, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Parkview Christian Church in Centralia, MO. Interment will be at 2:30 pm on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Mt.
