GILBERT L. ARMONTROUT

Gilbert L. Armontrout, 88, Centralia, MO passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Monroe Manor Care Center in Paris, MO surrounded by his family. He was born April 6, 1936, in Tulip, the son of the late Frank and Gertrude (Pennington) Armontrout. On April 15, 1956, he was united in marriage to Joyce (Harlow) Armontrout. Joyce preceded him in death on December 23, 2023.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three sons Jeff Armontrout and his wife Janet of Centralia, MO, Jamie Armontrout and his wife Kym of Columbia, MO and John Armontrout and his wife Karla of Centralia, MO; one daughter Connie Minton of Centralia, MO; ten grandchildren Krista, Logan, Alexis, Libby, Jason, Dalton, Jenny, Sara, Justin and Chloe; sixteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, two brothers Loyd Armontrout and Lafey Armontrout and one sister Goldie Ross preceded him in death.

Gilbert first worked at A.B. Chance Co. in Centralia, MO and owned and operated his own farm for many years. He was a member of the Tulip Christian Church, served as Road Commissioner for the East Saline Special Road District, served on the MFA board and was a member of the Panther Booster Club. Gilbert loved attending all family sporting events, cattle, hogs, working on the farm and spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Interment will be in the Centralia City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO.
