FLOYD ELGIN SMITH

 

Floyd Elgin Smith, 89, Williamsburg, MO passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 11, 1934, in Williamsburg, MO the son of the late Roy and Maude (Miller) Smith. On October 14, 1955, he was united in marriage to Minne (Steinmetz) Smith.

 

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son Dan G. Smith of Williamsburg, MO; one daughter Elaine Kime of Fulton, MO; grandchildren Michael Kime and his wife Lindsey, Gregory Smith, Kevin Smith, Chad Smith and his wife Felicia, Emily Smith, Nathaniel Wright and his wife Victoria and Brandon Smith and his wife Ariel; great grandchildren Jeremiah, Mary Jane, Haley, Fox, Maverick, Phoenix, Catrinia, Dominick, Naomi, Annabelle, Nathaniel II “Little Man”, Little Ty Ty, Madison and Olivia; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, two sons Elgin Smith and Guy Smith, several brothers and sisters and one son in law Dr. Marlin Kime preceded him in death.

 

Floyd worked at Elgin Smith Salvage for many years. He enjoyed chess, music, reading, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Floyd was a constant at the Fulton Senior Center and was known for always saying, “Howdy Neighbor”. Floyd was also a life-long member of God’s church. 

 

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Private family interment will be in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery near Auxvasse, MO. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to service time on Monday, June 10, 2024 at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. A celebration of life begins at 12:00 pm June 10, 2024, at 54 Country in Kingdom City, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton Senior Center, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O.
