Betty Schade

BETTY J. SCHADE Betty J. Schade, 86, Columbia, MO passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, at her home. She was born October 20, 1937, in Sturgeon, MO the daughter of the late Barney and Maysel (Roberts) Barnes. On December 16, 1967, she was united in marriage to James Schade, who preceded her in death on September 4, 2016. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Roxy Cohen and her husband J.B. of Columbia, MO, James Schade III of Mexico, MO and Jeannie Schade of Wichita, KS; three grandchildren Jody Cohen, Josh Cohen and Jake Cohen; five great grandchildren Alexis Smith-Bright, Savanna Cohen, Lance Gilbert-Cohen, Cannon Cohen and Emrie Cohen; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband James, one son Larry Prater, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Betty worked in several factories and retired from A.B. Chance Co. after 30 years. She was a member of several camping organizations and was a campground host for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. She enjoyed camping, baking, painting, fishing, birdwatching and travelling to the Lake of the Ozarks. She loved her dogs and spending time with her friends and family. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Interment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia, MO. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, Missouri.
